The liberal, pinko BBC tries to inform about the USA's abortion Wars. Outside the entrance to the Houston Women's Clinic, anti-abortion activists wield placards proclaiming "Babies are murdered here", and address those arriving at the clinic through megaphones. "In the book of Deuteronomy it says that God has set before today blessing and death, life and curse. So choose life," one young activist implores. For Dr Bernard Rosenfeld, the 71-year-old who runs the clinic, such protests are a familiar sight and sound. He told The Telegraph's US Editor Peter Foster how the protesters have recently "upped the ante", sending out fliers to his neighbours urging them to pray for him. Pro-life campaigners have gained significant ground in their battle to overturn the 1973 Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision, which made abortion a legal right. "The anti-abortion forces have been very smart. They've been working quietly under the scenes," says Poppy Northcutt, the Texas state president of the National Organisation for Women. "What they've been doing legislatively and legally preparing challenges to abortion clinics, for about 20 years now. They've been working very quietly and in a very targeted fashion to regulate abortion clinics out of business.
