Footage of a bubble turning into an icy sphere as temperatures drop to -35C in Canada. In the video, filmed in Regina, Saskatchewan, on December 28, a bubble appears to freeze into a solid sphere. Writes the filmer: "Frigid air does not mean you have to stay in. Bundle up, get out and create something amazing!" Temperatures across Canada and northern US have plunged since Christmas. Weather reports say this is due to a lobe of the polar vortex dipping far south over North America.

Brockport Police capture cookie-eating squirrel

Brockport, NY - Brockport Police were dispatched to a home for a report of a break in on Friday. The suspect happened to be a squirrel who was reportedly eating cookies in the kitchen. When officers arrived, the squirrel started jumping around, at one point leaping from the kitchen table into the one officer. The squirrel was ultimately captured by officers and released without injury.

28-year old Kansas man killed by police after phony swatting call was made to police

A Kansas man shot to death by police earlier this week was the victim of a misdirected online gaming;prank; known as swatting, authorities said Friday. The victim, Andrew Finch, was gunned down Thursday night after cops received a 911 call from a man who claimed he had shot his father and was holding his mother and younger brother hostage. I shot him in the head and he's not breathing anymore; the caller said, according to a recording released by WPD. But investigators say the disturbing tale was made up by a;prankster; to get a SWAT team to descend on an address. As it turned out, the caller gave cops Finch's address, believing it belonged to a person he had gotten into a heated argument with over a $1 or $2 ;Call of Duty; wager.

UK man drills finger wound to 'release pressure' after trapping it in door

Shocking video from the UK of a man getting a wound in his finger DRILLED. In the video, filmed in Cobham, Surrey on December 23, the power drill hovers over the man's bloody wound at the end of his finger, which had been shut in the front door. "Am I really doing this?" the injured man asks. "Yep," says the man holding the drill. The man's friend then starts up the drill and makes contact with the wound. "There it goes," says one of the men, as blood starts to ooze from the wound. "Bit more please," says the injured man at the end of the clip. He later wrote online: "Shut my finger in the front door and needed to drill it to release the pressure."

Speeding car loses control and hits a pedestrian and she survives

A woman survived after being run over by a driver in an alleged drunken state. The young woman was on her way to work when one was attacked by a car, being seriously injured. A security camera in the area captured the precise moment of the accident. In the images, you can see how the driver of the vehicle loses control, crosses the verma that divided the two lanes of the road, and ends up ramming the woman, who was moving along the path. A man identified as Julio Fernando Franco Pastor assured that he was the driver, and gave the test of ethyl dosage, which was negative. The witnesses accuse Eduardo David Granados Angulo - the other passenger of the vehicle and who was visibly drunk - of having been the one who was in front of the wheel.
