Passengers were evacuated from All Nippon Airways Boeing 767 aircraft on May 21 prior to its departure to Hong Kong from Narita airport after the passenger cabin filled with smoke. All 137 passengers and crew aboard the ANA aircraft escaped onto the tarmac - but at least six people are reported to have fallen ill. The Hong Kong-bound jet had been due to take off from Narita Airport near Tokyo when a "mist" gushed through the cabin at around 9.45am local time. According to the airline, a damaged power unit caused an "internal lubricant" to flow into the air conditioning system, where it formed the "mist." In a statement, a spokesperson for the airline said: ''We deeply apologise for the concern and inconvenience caused to customers.''
