Exclusive: Iraqi army resumes operations to retake Tikrit from ISIL

Iraqi forces continue to advance towards the center of Tikrit from the southern axis of operations, inflicting heavy losses on militants. Iraqi air force conducted airstrikes, creating a cover for the ground forces which advanced towards the municipality council. And then were able to take a few houses near Tikrit hospital. The aim of the Iraqi forces is now to advance towards the hospital where information shows that it is full of explosives and has snipers in it.
