The FW-187 is another obscure design that I am fond of. Powered by two relatively low powered engines it was still a fast plane. For inexplicable reasons the Luftwaffe were not interested and Instead went for the Ta-154 Moskito (likely because it was in direct competition with the British Mosquito) . The Moskito was a troubled aircraft let down by poor adhesive in it's wood construction. Not so for the FW-187. A plane that looked fast just sitting still was limited to IIRC about 6 examples or so. It was also used in factory defense and probably enjoyed at least a kill or two. (Wikipedia says not, but, I think they are full of it based on everything I have read).
