Dashcam records crash involving Phoenix police cruiser

A Phoenix police car was involved in a serious crash on New Year's Day, and a dashcam recorded everything. It happened Wednesday afternoon near Seventh Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Jon Abrams, who had dashcams rolling on both the front and back of his car, was heading south on Seventh Avenue, slowing down to stop at a light. A Phoenix police cruiser with lights flashing and sirens blaring in the middle of the intersection. As a white vehicle to the left of Abrams' car zoomed past him toward the green light, Abrams said he knew what was about to happen. "Oooh, he's gonna hit him!" he yelled in the video. "Oh, my God!" Abrams saw the white car crash into the front of the police car. The white car pulled over into a gas station, and the police car got thrown onto the sidewalk. Abrams turned the corner and drove up to the cruiser to check on the officer. The Phoenix Police Department hasn't given Arizona's Family much information on where the officer was headed. The driver of the white car reportedly suffered a minor injury when their airbag deployed. Nobody went to the hospital. Police said the officer probably will be at fault.
