CCTV in a commercial garage in Izmir, Turkey, caught the moment the earthquake hit on Friday 30 October. One man, standing next to the car, immediately ran away. But a second man, inside the vehicle, seemed to worry as much about saving his laptop as his life and spent crucial seconds carefully removing it from the car before he too ran away. When talking about the quake, the man with the laptop was lighthearted about his own questionable priorities but deadly serious about the devastation the earthquake has caused. "It was terrible," he said.
