Three immigration and civil judges charged over alleged lb12.6m bogus legal aid scam.

The three judges are among nine people due to appear in court on July 17. Kareena Maciel, left, Rasib Ghaffar, centre and Razi Shah. The charges follow a two-year review by CPS lawyers of a "big and complex" probe by a Scotland Yard fraud squad. The nine include two barristers, six solicitors and a legal clerk. They are accused of fraud by misrepresentation in relation to four cases in which exorbitant and fake claims were allegedly made. The offence has a maximum ten-year jail term. The fraudulent judges were exposed by a Scotland Yard probe that took two years to complete. Those charged include part-time immigration judges Rasib Ghaffar, 48, and Kareena Maciel, 46, and part-time civil judge Razi Shah, 47. Barrister Ghaffar and solicitor wife Maciel, of Woodford, East London, decide on asylum claims and migrant appeals. Shah, of Windsor, Berks, is a solicitor advocate. Of lb12.6million allegedly claimed, lb1.4million was paid out, which police say was mostly fraudulent. The nine are due before Westminster magistrates. The case isn't the interesting part of the article, read the names. They decide if migrants can stay but have migrant background, they are both judge and jury and everybody think it's normal and even good !
