The Ottawa river made a car park look like a beach, when floodwater submerged it entirely, turning it into an impromptu beach with fragments of nearby trees lining the edges. According to the filmer, who shot the footage last Sunday (April 28), the flooding was caused by: "extreme weather events [such as] record-high snowfall in late winter and rain fall in spring."
