It was a deadly standoff that ended with the death of an armed 18-year-old man. On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department held an officer-involved shooting briefing by stating that officers have been met by an increasing amount of armed suspects who aren't afraid to use violent force. LVMPD released a video, taken from an officer's body camera during a standoff that took place Saturday morning just north of downtown Las Vegas. The video shows police responding to reports of shots fired inside of a home. Police say they found the suspect, 18-year-old Roosevelt Brown walking around outside armed with a handgun. Police say Brown refused to comply with commands to drop the weapon. After more than two hours of negotiations, police say Brown pointed the gun at officers. That's when a police sniper identified by LVMPD as Officer Jonathan Collingwood, fired one round, fatally hitting Brown in the chest. Police say Brown was on electronic monitoring and at a home, with a woman he was not supposed to be around before firing the first shot.
