McDonald's Employee Who Beat Two Troublemakers With A Metal Bar Is Cleared By Grand Jury

Rayon McIntosh, the Greenwich Village McDonald's worker caught on dramatic cellphone video beating two unruly female customers, was not indicted by a grand jury, prosecutors said Friday, paving the way for him to be released from custody. After convening for 11 days over the incident, the grand jury voted to dismiss charges against McIntosh, 31. Originally facing a charge of burglary (the red purse) for the incident at the West 3rd Street McDonald's early the morning of Oct. 13, Myika Darbeau, 25, who suffered a fractured skull in the incident, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of attempted burglary in the third degree. She is expected to be sentenced Nov. 7 to five years probation. Rachel Edwards, who had also been charged with burglary, pleaded guilty to criminal trespass in the third degree and was sentenced to 10 days community service.
