Herpes Infested Macaques Roaming Residential Neighborhoods in Northwest Florida

State regulators confirm a dozen sightings of rhesus macaques over the past eight months -- the first time they've ever been reported in Northeast Florida. They were introduced in the 1930's where they swam away from their habitat and increased from 12 to an estimated 400 at one point.
