Police are searching for a young mother who allegedly abandoned her day-old daughter in freezing-cold temperatures together with a note pleading for whoever finds her child to care for her. Heartbreaking images of the baby girl have been circulating online ever since authorities with the Pingdong Police Station retrieved her from Tiedong Square in the city of Siping in north-eastern China's Jilin Province.
