Ajax, ON - Durham regional police have released dramatic video of the arrest of a Toronto man with the assistance of a K-9 unit on Saturday. Officers responded to a call at around 3 a.m. after a citizen informed them that he was following a suspected drunk driver on Salem Road in Ajax. Police say they found the vehicle and tried to stop it, but the suspect refused and continued to drive erratically. They stopped pursuing him due to high speeds and safety concerns. Durham regional police helicopter assisted in the pursuit. The suspect was eventually taken down by a K-9 unit. He was then taken into custudy.
