My 67 year-old mother has had health-related issues which caused her to be out of work by the time she was 45. About 6 years ago, her car finally died and she did not have the financial means to purchase a new car for herself, and therefore counted on friends and family to drive her, or to borrow cars to use to get around. I finally decided enough was enough and took out a loan to buy her a used car. I told her I was taking her out to lunch in a town nearby, where I left my car to be picked up later. She was completely surprised by the gift and so happy to have a little bit of freedom back. She's one of the safest drivers I've ever seen and I know she'll treat it well! Happy to share with those looking for something to brighten their day. :)
