MIDLOTHIAN, TX Surveillance video was recording when a firefighter took down a would-be robber at a gas station. The Midlothian Police Department released the surveillance video Tuesday, but the incident happened last month. Police said 19-year-old Dylan Bearden tried to rob an Exxon gas station. On the video, Bearden comes in, pushes a man aside, and pulls out a knife before demanding money. The man pushed aside turned out to be Daniel Gaskey, an off-duty Mansfield firefighter and who served in the Marines, decides to take matter into his own hands. Gaskey grabbed Bearden from behind, put one arm across his chest, and with the other grabbed the robber's knife hand and threw Bearden to the floor. Gaskey held Bearden down until police arrived. Bearden faces aggravated robbery charges, and no one was injured in the incident.
