Cop saves suicide jumper by jumping underneath him before he hits the ground.

A police officer saved a man who in his suicidal attempt jumped off a four-story building in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Thursday by blocking his fall with his own body. Police in Nankang Town, Beihai City, arrived at the incident scene shortly after receiving a report that a man was about to jump off a building. They found the man walking on the edge of the roof and making dangerous moves once in a while. The police officers began trying to persuade the man to come down from the roof while firefighters started preparing rescue equipment. However, the man suddenly leaped off from the building. As the man was plummeting towards the ground, police officer Liang Xiao ran forward to try and catch him and cushion his fall. The man fell on Liang with a tremendous impact, striking Liang to the ground heavily. Both Liang and the man were rushed to hospital. After thorough examinations, doctors at the hospital said both of them are now out of danger. According to the police, the man with the suicidal attempt is surnamed Chen at 32 years of age. The cause for his suicidal jump is still under investigation. source
