. . I actually have full permission to upload exclusively with the NFSA (The National Film & Sound Archive Australia). This short film was released by NFSA as an example of the communist propaganda rampant during 1950s Australia. For some reason a Moderator deleted this video of an Historical view of Communism in 1952 which was commissioned By the Australian Federal Government Of Australia. It is purely propaganda which should be shown in the context of the time and history. You can't just delete history. Did the moderator actually watch the whole video? Has the moderator looked at my uploads? This is is the first video upload that's been deleted since I begun in 2012. Why? It encapsulates the underlying fear most Australians felt immediately after the end of WWII. Rant Over! Sorry everyone but I'm a bit sick of the Tomfoolery & shenanigans occurring here at LL. Menace From the Film Australia Collection. Made by The National Film Board 1952. This post World War Two propaganda film warns of a red tide sweeping the world and the growing communist menace in Australia that is after the hearts and minds of our youth. Equating communism with slavery, it presents images of thriving industry and abundant leisure in the West with poverty and destruction in the East. It's less than subtle approach mirrors the soviet propaganda it derides. Coinciding with Australia's involvement in the Korean War it is also a call to arms on foreign soil as well as a campaign against perceived domestic threats to our freedom at a time of heightened fear and paranoia.
