Aquatic park in San Marcos for decades. Fed by springs the water was clear and glass bottom boats came to the area in the 1940's. Place was known for Ralph the swimming pig. Ralph chose to remain in central Texas while his other two brothers headed west where Porky found work in the Warner Brothers animation studios and Arnold went into acting for a spell at CBS Studios. Aquarena Springs Submarine Theater is where you went beneath the surface to watch Aquamaids swim and feed fish. Also there was a creepy looking clown. Alpine Swiss Sky Ride got you from one end of the park to the other and there also was a Sky Spiral of around 250' that rotated 360o. The 1978 film Piranha was filmed there. (8mm Kodachrome movie film 1080 HD transfer. Film date code - August 1958.)
