Rogiet Bridge Replacement

Saturday Cinema - a bridge too far.. A Network Rail time-lapse filum (northern Ireland D'vn) of a bridge replacement in Monmouthshire up't north. The new bridge at Rogiet Road, which will have a lifespan of around 120 years, is the last bridge in Monmouthshire to reopen following upgrade work. The bridge can now accommodate heavier vehicles, is fit for modern day traffic, has a new footpath for pedestrians and improved road alignment for better accessibility. The line was kept open for as long as they could but they had to demolish the old structure to make a higher bridge to accommodate newer electric passenger trains and the overhead catenary equipment. about 9 months work in 4 minutes...
