Turkish high speed train crash in Ankara: four killed, 43 injured

A Turkish high speed train has crashed into an overpass and two carriages toppled over in Ankara, killing four and injuring 43, Ankara Governor Vasip Sahin said. The high speed train, which was travelling to the central province of Konya, crashed into a locomotive which carries out track inspections, Sahin said. The accident occurred around 6:30 am (0330 GMT) at the Marsandiz train station, to the west of Ankara, as the train was travelling between Ankara and the central Turkish province of Konya. The Marsandiz station is around 8 km (5 miles) from the main Ankara train station. Video footage showed emergency workers at the scene, where carriages were trapped beneath the mangled metal wreckage of an overpass. Turkish media Milliyet has posted photos and footage of the scene of the crash:
