A Thai man using a selfie stick got a surprise on Saturday, January 2, when he spotted something flying across the sky while he was filming himself. Charnchai Jardpimai was using his selfie stick in Phitsanulok province, four hours north of Bangkok, when, what is believed to be debris from a Russian rocket, whizzed across the sky.Jardpimai, and many others, believed the object to be a meteor, however the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand said it was likely debris from a Russian rocket. The rocket was ejected following the launch of a weather satellite from Kazakhstan on December 11. A website that tracks material in space predicted the debris would reenter the Earth's atmosphere on January 2. Credit: YouTube/Charnchai Jardpimai
