Man posts Craigslist ad for 'legit counterfeit' money, is arrested

An alleged counterfeiter was too legit - until Florida cops made him quit. Tony Torbert, 20, was arrested after placing a Craigslist ad brazenly offering his services manufacturing "Legit counterfeit $$" that he ran out of his family's Merritt Island home, authorities said. And when cops showed up at his door, the dimwitted suspect let them in and said, "I'm gonna go ahead and make it easy on you guys. The printer is in my bedroom," according a federal complaint published by The Smoking Gun. That's where authorities found an HP printer that Torbert allegedly used to print $20,000 in fake 20s over the past several months. Torbert implicated himself with his Craigslist posts for "Legit counterfeit $$. Serious customers only contact me," authorities said. The shrewd businessman wouldn't accept anything less than $1,500 for $5,000 in fake bills, the court papers said. An undercover cop purchased fake bills, black tar heroin and pot during a meeting in a church parking lot, across the street from Torbert's home, according to court documents.
