New York Fashion Week was kicked out of Lincoln Center in December 2014, when the Supreme Court of the State of New York ruled it could not renew a lease for the week-long, bi-annual festivities
Apparently, NYFW violated its use as a public park, which did not sit well with the New York City Parks Advocates. They filed a complaint claiming the location's Damrosch Park wasn't fairly and readily available to the public at all times (as some portions of the space were closed for the shows).
In another blow, Mercedes-Benz ended its sponsorship of the event, deciding instead to focus on its other global fashion initiatives. Read more...
