An interesting design with its' genesis in Nazi Germany. Originally designed as a bomber it was later adapted to passenger use. It was not all that successful. This is not unheard of in the West. The Boeing B-29 was modified into the Stratocruiser and the Russian Tu-95 was the basis for the Tu-114.
