Big Difference Between Trump & Clinton Impeachment

. . Clinton committed actual crimes: Obstruction of justice and perjury. Both Democrats and Republicans thought so, and voted to convict in the House. He was narrowly saved from being removed from office by a Senate that voted 55-45 that Clinton was not guilty of obstruction of justice, while voting 50-50 on perjury. First and foremost, there is no comparison between Trump and Nixon because, as Ken Starr, the independent counsel who led the investigation into Clinton's high crimes and misdemeanors, our current president hasn't committed any offenses. . . "For one thing, President Clinton committed crimes," Starr told Fox News' Martha McCallum Friday. "Perjury," added MacCallum, "lying about what happened with Monica Lewinsky." "And also, obstructing justice, and he was found in contempt, Martha," Starr continued. "Not by the Congress, but by a United States district court judge for what, obstructing justice, don't do that. Think of the 'Me Too' movement," he explained. "Oh, everyone just lies about that? Oh really? Under oath? I don't think so, that's not the law of the land. And in stark contrast, President Trump has not committed any crimes whatsoever," Starr said. "This has been an impeachment in search of a label," he added. . . . Starr noted further that Americans should read the congressional testimony of 'impeachment inquiry witnesses' each of whom have admitted under oath that, no, President Trump has not committed any criminal acts in his dealings with Ukraine (or anything else). As such, Starr had nothing but contempt for that great constitutional pretender, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and her party for pretending like they're so patriotic and as such must impeach the president. "What the Speaker has done is stepped out of her historic role, she has arrogated power to herself and she is wrapping herself, as the Democrats are, in a flag of patriotism. And I think it's frankly, arrogance," Starr said. "I think it's arrogance masquerading as patriotism," he noted further, "and the founding generation insists, we hear their echoes, we must impeach. And with all respect, that's just profoundly wrong, and it's unfair to the country." . . .
