Nearly 50 fires in Israel from Gaza in last two days; Gazans burn IDF gear after breaching border fence

A group of Palestinians breached the border fence in southern Gaza just earlier, crossing into Israel and setting alight IDF equipment at an empty outpost before rushing back into the strip unscathed. A military spokesperson says IDF troops spotted the breach, but the Palestinians had already fled back into Gaza by the time they arrived. Meanwhile, the kite/balloon arson campaign continued today, with around 25 fires erupting by the afternoon in the western Negev, adding to around 24 fires from yesterday. Fires broke out yet again in Be'eri Forest, Kissufim Forest and the Simhoni Forest in the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council. Earlier, police sappers were called to one of the communities in Shafir Regional Council near the town of Kiryat Gat following reports of a suspicious balloon that had landed in the area. The area was closed off by police while the sappers dealt with the balloon. Another report just came in regarding another flame balloon located in a forest east of Kiryat Gat. Kiryat Gat is located about 20-22 km from the Gaza Strip, to the north-east. Photos: Gazan fires today inside Israel, and Gazan flame balloon in a field several dozen km from the Strip
